NordPass

Last reviewed: May 2026

NordPass is a focused password manager from the same company as NordVPN. For freelancers it is less about novelty features and more about keeping client logins out of sticky notes and reused strings.

Pros

  • Zero-knowledge vault framing with autofill that respects busy tab stacks.
  • Breach alerts and secure notes help when contracts mention shared credentials.
  • Familiar brand if you already run NordVPN and want one vendor story for audits or expense reports.

Cons

  • Team policies still need your written rules: who gets which folder, and when access ends.
  • Not every client wants another subscription line item next to their own IT stack.
  • Recovery flows matter: lose master access without backups and you learn why IT people lecture about redundancy.

Who it is not right for

If you already live inside an enterprise IdP that forbids personal vaults, do not fight policy. If you only need a free browser password list and your risk is low, paid tiers may feel like overkill until a breach proves otherwise.

Recommendation

Worth trialing when you want a serious vault next to NordVPN without juggling unrelated vendors. Pair with how we think about password managers before you migrate every client login in one night.
