DESIGN TOOLS

Canva

Last reviewed: May 2026

Canva is the fastest way I know to ship usable client graphics. I use it when speed matters more than perfect custom work.

Pros

  • Massive library of layouts sized for real publishing destinations.
  • Brand kits keep palettes and fonts disciplined across client work.
  • Comments and sharing simplify async feedback loops.

Cons

  • Highly recognizable templates if you skip customization.
  • Advanced print workflows may still need specialized tools.
  • Team billing tiers add up as collaborators multiply.

Who it is not right for

If you rarely need what Canva is built for, or you are still proving demand before you pay for depth, lighter tools or trials may keep cash and attention freer while you learn your rhythm.

Recommendation

If Canva lines up with the Pros you care about and the Cons sound manageable from how you actually work, it is worth a focused trial on a live client-shaped project rather than a toy sandbox.
